# Card Identification & Correction

#### How card identification works

When packs are opened on RIP.FUN, each card is scanned and identified using a combination of automated detection (AI) and human review. This allows us to accurately log cards into your inventory and prepare them for trading, selling, or redemption.

This process is extremely accurate, but on rare occasions a card may be misidentified.

#### Reporting an identification issue

If you believe a card in your inventory was identified incorrectly—either right after opening or later during redemption—report it on the platform or reach out to our support team. We’ll review the opening footage and scan records to verify the issue.

***

#### What happens if an error is confirmed

If we confirm that a card was misidentified:

* Your inventory will be updated to reflect the **actual card that was pulled**.
* We’ll then make you whole for the **card we originally showed or credited to you** in one of two ways:
  * If that originally identified card is available for purchase on RIP.FUN, we’ll attempt to acquire it for you and deliver it as promised.
  * If it’s not available, we’ll provide the **fair market value in USD** for that originally identified card.

Fair market value is determined using current market data at the time the issue is verified.

#### Why the inventory is always corrected

Even when compensation is provided, it’s important that both the digital record and any physical fulfillment reflect the true outcome of the pack opening. This ensures fairness, transparency, and integrity across the platform and marketplace.

#### A note on fairness

This policy exists to protect users while maintaining a trustworthy system for everyone. Identification issues are rare, but when they happen, our goal is simple: **correct the record and make it right**.
